What Is Inspiration

The word inspiration has an interesting triple meaning. While it is most commonly defined as a moment creative or spiritual illumination, its Latin origin means " to draw in breath." And to inspire also means to uplift oathers. There is , then, a physical as well as a mental and spiritual component to inspiration. When we practice deep breathing, we are "inspirating "- drawing breath into the deepest spaces, training it to flow throughout the body, from the diaphragm to the belly to the lungs, and out through our nostrils. As our bodies are cleansed, our blood recharged, our being both calmed and invigorated, mental blocks begin to dissolve and our chakras- the different energy centers in our bodies- open up, allowing us better access to the divine energy that illuminates our creative and spirtual selves, And, as we are so inspired, we radiate that breath of life to others.
